Lenny's Story

When Lenny was a young child, he got a hold of some illegal narcotics that his father had left under the bed. Thinking they were candy, Lenny, ate the pills. After nearly dying several times, Lenny has managed to survive. He is currently confined to a wheelchair. He has a hard time talking or doing anything for himself. Although his mother told us that he is doing more and more each day.

Lenny came to our attention, because he wanted to be a police officer. Our Lodge contacted all of the agencies in the area and arranged a nice ceremony for Lenny. At the ceremony, Lenny was made an "Honorary Law Enforcement Officer" with Iberia Parish S.O., St. Martinville Parish S.O., Lafayette P.D., and New Iberia P.D.. Each department presented Lenny with something special from their department or city. He was also given a display case containing badges from around the state and a jacket that contained patches from agency across the country.

The smile that Lenny gave us that day made up for all of the negative thing that people say about Law Enforcement. It was wonderful.
